Paul J. Falco first received his Real Estate license on March 29. He practiced this profession until entering the U.S. Army as a Volunteer Officer Candidate in 1942, after which he served three years overseas.
Paul returned to civilian life and to the real estate profession, as it proved to be both challenging and rewarding.
Paul obtained a Real Estate Broker’s license on December 10 and subsequently organized the Paul J. Falco Company.
Paul was elected Mayor of Marble Cliff, where he served for a total of 36 years.
The addition of two other partners – Jim Smith and Donald W. Kelley – who were real estate specialists in fields other than sales led to the formation of Falco, Smith & Kelley, Ltd. The company offered expertise as Realtors, appraisers and real estate consultants.
Jim Smith was an appraiser by trade. Don was a young graduate of The Ohio State University on the GI Bill when he started at the company – after Paul was the first person to reach out upon receiving Don’s typed and mailed resume and cover letter.
Don formed an additional real estate company: Donald W. Kelley & Associates, a real estate development, appraisal, and consulting firm.
Donald W. Kelley & Associates and The Robert Weiler Company started joint development activities, while also maintaining separate appraisal and brokerage entities. These entities continue to serve the Greater Columbus area to this day.
Also in 1970, Don formed the Oakwood Management Company to manage Falco, Smith & Kelley’s growing portfolio.
Upon graduation from The Ohio State University with a both a Bachelor of Science and MBA, Patrick J. Kelley joined his father in his real estate businesses.
Don Kelley, Bob Weiler and Bob Echele formed NP Limited Partnership Ltd. to develop what is now known as the POLARIS Centers of Commerce.
Development activity started in Northlake Woods, a picturesque, wooded area that is just minutes from I-71, off of State Route 36/37.
On May 3, the company broke ground on Beulah Park Living and Beulah Place, one of its most ambitious projects.
